The reason why you need to do pottery

The tactile experience of working with clay is deeply therapeutic; the rhythmic motions of kneading, shaping, and smoothing help reduce stress and anxiety. The focus required for pottery serves as a form of mindfulness, calming the mind and body.

Clay can be dirt in the wrong hands, but clay can be art in the right hands.

How we started

With an idea and the need for a creative outlet to foster a place that builds community, Salma set out to make that happen. With the support of peers and her university professors, it was her goal to make this come to reality. She advertised to friends, family, and her local community, including her favorite coffee shop, Cool Beans. She began teaching classes summer of 2024 and have held workshops, sold work, and through all age ranges.

In the past 5 years we’ve worked with so many students, helping build their creative brains to go out into the world and build their very own pottery pieces
